I wonder what happens if you enter a different VIN and install the update.

I tried to do the update plugged in usb to radio and file not supported popped up on radio,Im not sure what to do.

It means you have the latest UConnect version for your vehicle.

It can work if your model year and radio equipment are the same.

I just did it on my wifes 2015 Chrysler 200, which the UConnect web site kept saying no update was available.

I know these Uconnects are kinda finicky and dont want to touch mine if its working fine but I will look into it thanks.

Has anyone else received anything like that and is it legit It seems like folks have been able to download an update and install it themselves for free.

It was free for the first year ( maybe 6 months ) after which you must pay yearly if you want the service.

It has nothing to do with updating the software currently running in the system.

This is a partial picture of the email I received telling me I had to pay for the NAV update.

UConnect also has a subscription that you must pay for to get those services, however most items still function without the subscription.
